How to choose an aircraft to buy?

Choosing an aircraft to purchase is an important step that will determine the comfort of your flights. Here are the key factors to consider:

image

Purpose of aircraft:

  • Short business trips: a small but comfortable aircraft such as the Cessna Citation CJ3+ or Embraer Phenom 300E is suitable for business meetings.
  • Family/friends vacations: if you are traveling with a large group of people on a medium distance, choose more spacious models, such as Bombardier Challenger 605 or Gulfstream G450.
  • Transcontinental flights: for long flights, you need an aircraft with long range and sleeping places, such as the Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650ER.

Number of passengers:

  • Determine medium number of passengers that are flying most of the time, to select an aircraft with enough seats and comfort level for everyone.

Distance and route:

  • Consider the range of 80% of your most popular flights for the chosen model and the possibility of landing at the destination airport. Consider the specifics of your route: mountainous or maritime terrain may require Aircrafts with specific specifications. We can help you with this!

Budget:

  • Determine your budget and compare the cost of buying different models. We’ll tell you when you could cut corners and when you shouldn’t do that.
  • The cost of the aircraft should not exceed 5% of your capital. Otherwise, you could attract financing.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability of full size bedroom, kitchen, sleeping places, shower room, internet and entertainment system.

Eight Stages of a Business Jet Purchase

Determine aircraft requirements

Determine your budget and travel needs: Where do you want to fly? How often? How many passengers will you carry? What level of comfort do you prefer?

Send request to us

Contact our manager, who will help you understand the technical characteristics of the aircraft and choose the most suitable model.

Select an aircraft model

Based on your requirements, we will select several aircraft models that are optimally suited in terms of technical characteristics, capacity, flight range and other parameters. We will also help you compare the selected models and make an informed choice. We recommend choosing an aircraft that is 80% of your ideal.

Visual inspection of the aircraft

Choose one or two aircrafts from the available options. We will arrange for a visual inspection where you can personally inspect the aircraft, assess the condition of its interior and exterior and determine the most suitable option for purchase.

LOI and contract

You will need to sign a Letter of Intent to purchase the aircraft (LOI), pay a deposit and sign an Aircraft Purchase Agreement drafted by our experienced lawyers.

Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI)

We will arrange an independent technical inspection of the aircraft at a certified center to ensure that it is safe and in good working order. You will receive a detailed report on the technical condition of the aircraft to be sure of its reliability. As a result, you will receive a fully operational airworthy aircraft.

Deal closing

At this stage, the aircraft is flown to the closing location and the aircraft is paid for in any way you like. The transaction is conducted through an escrow agent, which guarantees the safety and transparency of the transaction. Your funds will be sent to the seller only after receiving all necessary documents for the aircraft.

Getting an aircraft

We will organize a delivery ceremony to put the aircraft at your service. And we will ensure that your new aircraft gets off to a comfortable start. If necessary, we recommend the operator, insurance company and trusted maintenance center.

Frequently asked questions

Cirrus SR22: what is it and what to check before buying?

The Cirrus SR22 is a piston aircraft by Cirrus (the US), in production since 2001. It seats 5, with 1,900 km range, a 330 km/h cruise and a single Continental IO-550-N (310 hp). When buying, check CAPS and IO-550 life plus the generation (G1–G7). Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How much does a Cirrus SR22 cost: purchase and upkeep?

For the Cirrus SR22: a typical used price of $400K; new — $1M. At 300–400 h/year, running cost is about $120K/yr, or $300/h. The final figure depends on year, hours and condition. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What is Cirrus known for and what is the Vision Jet?

Cirrus is an American maker whose piston SR22 has been the best-selling general-aviation aircraft for twenty years running. The Vision Jet is its jet debut: the only production single-engine jet and the best-selling jet in the world by deliveries since 2018. Five adult seats, ~2,200 km range, price from $3.5M — the most affordable entry into jet aviation. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How safe is the single-engine Vision Jet?

Cirrus removed the main fear of the single-engine layout: the Vision Jet is factory-fitted with the CAPS parachute that lowers the whole aircraft with its passengers, and Safe Return — one button and the Garmin autopilot picks an airfield, approaches and lands without the pilot. On the SR piston line the parachute has already saved over 250 people; no production rival offers this combination. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How well does the Vision Jet hold value and what does ownership cost?

Demand for used Vision Jets steadily exceeds supply: three-to-four-year-old G2s sell for $2.8–3.3M — about 85% of a new one's price. Ownership is the cheapest in the jet segment: one Williams FJ33 engine, ~250 L/hour burn, direct costs around $800–1,000 per flight hour versus $1,500–2,000 for classic very light jets. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

Which country is Cirrus from, how old is the marque and how many aircraft have been built?

Cirrus is an American maker from Duluth, Minnesota, founded in 1984. The piston SR22 has been the best-selling general-aviation aircraft for twenty years — over 8,000 of the SR family built; the Vision Jet has been delivered in more than 500 units. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What are piston aircraft best for?

Piston aircraft suit training, personal flights and short legs up to 1,000–1,900 km: the Cirrus SR22, Piper Archer and M350, Diamond DA40/DA62 and Cessna 172/182. They are cheaper per hour and clear short, unpaved strips, but trail turboprops on speed and altitude. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What range and how many seats do pistons offer?

A typical piston carries four passengers over 1,000–1,900 km at a 200–350 km/h cruise; six-seat types like the Piper M350 and Diamond DA62 reach 1,800–1,900 km. Real range depends on payload, winds and fuel reserves. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How does a piston differ from a turboprop?

A piston is cheaper to buy ($0.3–1.4M vs $2–7M) and to fly per hour, but slower (200–350 km/h vs 500–600) with a lower ceiling. A turboprop carries more and flies farther; a piston wins on short legs and training. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

Which piston models are in the fleet?

The piston fleet covers trainers and touring types: the Piper Archer, Pilot 100i and Seminole, the pressurised M350, the Cirrus SR22 and Diamond DA40/DA62. We'll match a model to your task — training, personal flights or short legs. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How do you choose an aircraft to buy for your needs?

Start from two numbers: the length of your typical route and the number of passengers. Up to 1,000 km and 4 people — a turboprop or light jet; 2,000–4,000 km — a midsize jet; nonstop intercontinental — a long-range jet. Then adjust for short runways, baggage volume and sleeping berths. We'll match a model to your profile and calculate the ownership economics. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

New aircraft or pre-owned — which is the better buy?

A new aircraft means a factory warranty and a 1–3-year queue, but the price is at its peak. A pre-owned aircraft means immediate delivery and a price 30–60% lower, while engine time and history matter. For most buyers a fresh 3–7-year-old aircraft is optimal: the main depreciation has happened and plenty of life remains. We cost both options. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.
