How to choose an aircraft to buy?

Choosing an aircraft to purchase is an important step that will determine the comfort of your flights. Here are the key factors to consider:

image

Purpose of aircraft:

  • Short business trips: a small but comfortable aircraft such as the Cessna Citation CJ3+ or Embraer Phenom 300E is suitable for business meetings.
  • Family/friends vacations: if you are traveling with a large group of people on a medium distance, choose more spacious models, such as Bombardier Challenger 605 or Gulfstream G450.
  • Transcontinental flights: for long flights, you need an aircraft with long range and sleeping places, such as the Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650ER.

Number of passengers:

  • Determine medium number of passengers that are flying most of the time, to select an aircraft with enough seats and comfort level for everyone.

Distance and route:

  • Consider the range of 80% of your most popular flights for the chosen model and the possibility of landing at the destination airport. Consider the specifics of your route: mountainous or maritime terrain may require Aircrafts with specific specifications. We can help you with this!

Budget:

  • Determine your budget and compare the cost of buying different models. We’ll tell you when you could cut corners and when you shouldn’t do that.
  • The cost of the aircraft should not exceed 5% of your capital. Otherwise, you could attract financing.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability of full size bedroom, kitchen, sleeping places, shower room, internet and entertainment system.

Eight Stages of a Business Jet Purchase

Determine aircraft requirements

Determine your budget and travel needs: Where do you want to fly? How often? How many passengers will you carry? What level of comfort do you prefer?

Send request to us

Contact our manager, who will help you understand the technical characteristics of the aircraft and choose the most suitable model.

Select an aircraft model

Based on your requirements, we will select several aircraft models that are optimally suited in terms of technical characteristics, capacity, flight range and other parameters. We will also help you compare the selected models and make an informed choice. We recommend choosing an aircraft that is 80% of your ideal.

Visual inspection of the aircraft

Choose one or two aircrafts from the available options. We will arrange for a visual inspection where you can personally inspect the aircraft, assess the condition of its interior and exterior and determine the most suitable option for purchase.

LOI and contract

You will need to sign a Letter of Intent to purchase the aircraft (LOI), pay a deposit and sign an Aircraft Purchase Agreement drafted by our experienced lawyers.

Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI)

We will arrange an independent technical inspection of the aircraft at a certified center to ensure that it is safe and in good working order. You will receive a detailed report on the technical condition of the aircraft to be sure of its reliability. As a result, you will receive a fully operational airworthy aircraft.

Deal closing

At this stage, the aircraft is flown to the closing location and the aircraft is paid for in any way you like. The transaction is conducted through an escrow agent, which guarantees the safety and transparency of the transaction. Your funds will be sent to the seller only after receiving all necessary documents for the aircraft.

Getting an aircraft

We will organize a delivery ceremony to put the aircraft at your service. And we will ensure that your new aircraft gets off to a comfortable start. If necessary, we recommend the operator, insurance company and trusted maintenance center.

Frequently asked questions

What is Dassault known for and which Falcons are in the range?

France's Dassault builds the Rafale fighter and carries military technology into the Falcon business jets. In production today: the Falcon 2000LXS (large class, 7,400 km), the tri-jet 900LX, the new 6X with the widest cabin in class (2.58 m), the flagship 8X (11,900 km) and the 10X, nearing delivery, with 13,900 km. In all, more than 2,700 Falcons have been built. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

Why does the Falcon have three engines and what does it give in practice?

The tri-jet layout of the 900LX and 8X is Dassault's signature. The practical benefit: clearance for long ocean routes without ETOPS limits, peace of mind if one engine fails over mountains or water, and approaches to short, demanding runways — the 8X is certified for London City with its steep glideslope. Fuel burn is meanwhile lower than many twin rivals, thanks to a light airframe. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How well do Falcons hold value on the pre-owned market?

Falcons age gracefully: an eight-year-old 2000LXS sells for $18–22M (new $37M), a 900LX of the same age $23–28M. Classic 2000s 900EX at $12–16M are considered the best price for a tri-jet intercontinental jet. The discount to a same-size Gulfstream reflects a smaller fleet, but Falcon supply on the market is also notably shorter. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How does the Falcon differ from Gulfstream?

Gulfstream leads on speed and range: the G650ER flies M0.90 over 13,890 km, while the Falcon 8X does M0.85 over 11,945 km. The Falcon answers with economy (15–20% less burn), short-field operation and digital control honed on fighters. The 6X/10X cabins are wider than Gulfstream equivalents. Roughly: Gulfstream is about maximum performance, Falcon about flexibility and efficiency. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What routes and tasks suit large jets?

The large class is the standard for corporate transport of principals on 7–9-hour legs: London–New York, Paris–Dubai, Vienna–Delhi. A range of about 7,400 km, a wide cabin (2.4–2.5 m) with separate work, dining and rest zones, two pilots and a flight attendant as standard. It is the minimum class where a long flight for a party of 8–12 has no compromises. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What range and how many passengers do large jets have?

The Challenger 650 takes up to 12 passengers over 7,400 km; the Falcon 2000LXS 8–10 seats over 7,410 km with short-field clearance thanks to its wing high-lift devices. Cruise speed is 850–870 km/h. A cabin 2.41–2.49 m wide and 1.83–1.88 m high allows free movement; 3.2–3.7 m³ holds are accessible in flight. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How does a large jet differ from neighbouring classes?

The super-midsize yields to the large jet in cabin width (2.08–2.19 m versus 2.41+) and 'presence' — at head-of-state and corporate level that matters. The ultra-large class (Falcon 900LX, G450, Legacy 650) adds a third cabin zone, up to 14 seats and up to 8,800 km. The large jet is the rational point: maximum comfort before prices climb toward $10K+ an hour. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

Which large jets are in the fleet and how do they differ?

Four aircraft: the Bombardier Challenger 604/605/650 family — the world's best-selling large jet with a 2.49 m-wide cabin (three generations differing in avionics and finish, the 650 being current) — and the Dassault Falcon 2000LXS, an economical Frenchman with short-field clearance: it lands where rivals of its size cannot, burning 15% less fuel. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How do you choose an aircraft to buy for your needs?

Start from two numbers: the length of your typical route and the number of passengers. Up to 1,000 km and 4 people — a turboprop or light jet; 2,000–4,000 km — a midsize jet; nonstop intercontinental — a long-range jet. Then adjust for short runways, baggage volume and sleeping berths. We'll match a model to your profile and calculate the ownership economics. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

New aircraft or pre-owned — which is the better buy?

A new aircraft means a factory warranty and a 1–3-year queue, but the price is at its peak. A pre-owned aircraft means immediate delivery and a price 30–60% lower, while engine time and history matter. For most buyers a fresh 3–7-year-old aircraft is optimal: the main depreciation has happened and plenty of life remains. We cost both options. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.
