How to choose an aircraft to buy?

Choosing an aircraft to purchase is an important step that will determine the comfort of your flights. Here are the key factors to consider:

image

Purpose of aircraft:

  • Short business trips: a small but comfortable aircraft such as the Cessna Citation CJ3+ or Embraer Phenom 300E is suitable for business meetings.
  • Family/friends vacations: if you are traveling with a large group of people on a medium distance, choose more spacious models, such as Bombardier Challenger 605 or Gulfstream G450.
  • Transcontinental flights: for long flights, you need an aircraft with long range and sleeping places, such as the Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650ER.

Number of passengers:

  • Determine medium number of passengers that are flying most of the time, to select an aircraft with enough seats and comfort level for everyone.

Distance and route:

  • Consider the range of 80% of your most popular flights for the chosen model and the possibility of landing at the destination airport. Consider the specifics of your route: mountainous or maritime terrain may require Aircrafts with specific specifications. We can help you with this!

Budget:

  • Determine your budget and compare the cost of buying different models. We’ll tell you when you could cut corners and when you shouldn’t do that.
  • The cost of the aircraft should not exceed 5% of your capital. Otherwise, you could attract financing.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability of full size bedroom, kitchen, sleeping places, shower room, internet and entertainment system.

How an Aircraft Purchase Works: Request, Contract, Payment

Eight Stages of a Business Jet Purchase

Determine aircraft requirements

Determine your budget and travel needs: Where do you want to fly? How often? How many passengers will you carry? What level of comfort do you prefer?

Send request to us

Contact our manager, who will help you understand the technical characteristics of the aircraft and choose the most suitable model.

Select an aircraft model

Based on your requirements, we will select several aircraft models that are optimally suited in terms of technical characteristics, capacity, flight range and other parameters. We will also help you compare the selected models and make an informed choice. We recommend choosing an aircraft that is 80% of your ideal.

Visual inspection of the aircraft

Choose one or two aircrafts from the available options. We will arrange for a visual inspection where you can personally inspect the aircraft, assess the condition of its interior and exterior and determine the most suitable option for purchase.

LOI and contract

You will need to sign a Letter of Intent to purchase the aircraft (LOI), pay a deposit and sign an Aircraft Purchase Agreement drafted by our experienced lawyers.

Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI)

We will arrange an independent technical inspection of the aircraft at a certified center to ensure that it is safe and in good working order. You will receive a detailed report on the technical condition of the aircraft to be sure of its reliability. As a result, you will receive a fully operational airworthy aircraft.

Deal closing

At this stage, the aircraft is flown to the closing location and the aircraft is paid for in any way you like. The transaction is conducted through an escrow agent, which guarantees the safety and transparency of the transaction. Your funds will be sent to the seller only after receiving all necessary documents for the aircraft.

Getting an aircraft

We will organize a delivery ceremony to put the aircraft at your service. And we will ensure that your new aircraft gets off to a comfortable start. If necessary, we recommend the operator, insurance company and trusted maintenance center.

Frequently asked questions

What is Airbus Corporate Jets known for and which liners are in the range?

ACJ is Airbus's VIP division, building business versions of production airliners: the compact ACJ TwoTwenty (73 m² cabin, up to 18 seats), the narrow-body ACJ319neo and ACJ320neo, and the wide-body ACJ330neo and ACJ350. The key difference from classic business jets is space: a 3.7 m-wide cabin fits a bedroom, shower, meeting room and office. Support runs through Airbus's global service network. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What range do ACJ aircraft have?

The ACJ TwoTwenty flies about 10,500 km — London–New York or Paris–Dubai nonstop. The ACJ320neo gives ~11,100 km with 25 passengers, the ACJ330neo up to 18,500 km, and the ACJ350 covers practically any pair of cities in the world nonstop. By comparison, a classic long-range jet needs a technical stop on routes longer than 14,000 km. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How much does an ACJ cost and what shapes the price?

A new ACJ TwoTwenty with a fit-out runs about $88M, the ACJ320neo from $110M for a 'green' airframe plus $25–40M for the VIP interior. On the pre-owned market, 2000s ACJ319s are offered at $25–45M. Price is set by engine time remaining, heavy-check freshness, interior year and the presence of extra fuel tanks. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How does the ACJ differ from Boeing Business Jets?

They are direct rivals: ACJ320neo versus BBJ 737 MAX. The Airbus cabin is wider — 3.70 m versus 3.53 m on the Boeing — and fly-by-wire is unified across the line, simplifying crew training. The BBJ answers with slightly more range in the MAX 7 version and a huge worldwide 737 fleet. In practice the choice comes down to cabin layout and the service base in the region of operation. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What routes and tasks suit business liners?

A business liner is a flying residence or headquarters: cabins of 60–270 m² hold bedrooms, showers, meeting rooms for 8–12 and a staff area. Typical scenarios: flights for heads of state and corporations with 15–50-person delegations, family travel with staff, and artist and sports-team tours. Where a group feels cramped even in a Global, liner territory begins. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What range and how many passengers do business liners have?

The ACJ TwoTwenty — 18 seats and 10,500 km; the ACJ320neo — 25 seats and 11,100 km; the BBJ 737-8 — 11,700 km with a 79 m² cabin; the Lineage 1000E — 19 seats and 8,500 km; the Sukhoi Business Jet — 19–23 seats and up to 7,200 km. Wide-body ACJ330neo and BBJ 787 cover 17,000–18,500 km — any pair of cities on the planet nonstop. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How does a business liner differ from neighbouring classes?

Cabin area is 60–270 m² versus 25–40 m² on a Global or Gulfstream: full bedrooms, a shower and a cinema appear. The flip side: a liner needs runways from 2,000–2,500 m and full airport infrastructure, an hour costs one and a half to two times more, and cruise is lower (M0.78–0.85 versus M0.90). Up to 12–15 passengers a jet is more rational; more — a liner. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

Which business liners are in the fleet and how do they differ?

Fourteen aircraft: the Airbus ACJ line from the compact TwoTwenty to the wide-body ACJ350-9 (up to 19,000+ km), Boeing BBJ 737 MAX in three sizes and the long-range BBJ 787/777-8, the Embraer Lineage 1000E with five cabin zones, and the Sukhoi Business Jet — 19–23 seats at half the price of Western equivalents, supported in the CIS. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How do you choose an aircraft to buy for your needs?

Start from two numbers: the length of your typical route and the number of passengers. Up to 1,000 km and 4 people — a turboprop or light jet; 2,000–4,000 km — a midsize jet; nonstop intercontinental — a long-range jet. Then adjust for short runways, baggage volume and sleeping berths. We'll match a model to your profile and calculate the ownership economics. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

New aircraft or pre-owned — which is the better buy?

A new aircraft means a factory warranty and a 1–3-year queue, but the price is at its peak. A pre-owned aircraft means immediate delivery and a price 30–60% lower, while engine time and history matter. For most buyers a fresh 3–7-year-old aircraft is optimal: the main depreciation has happened and plenty of life remains. We cost both options. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.
