How to choose an aircraft to buy?

Choosing an aircraft to purchase is an important step that will determine the comfort of your flights. Here are the key factors to consider:

image

Purpose of aircraft:

  • Short business trips: a small but comfortable aircraft such as the Cessna Citation CJ3+ or Embraer Phenom 300E is suitable for business meetings.
  • Family/friends vacations: if you are traveling with a large group of people on a medium distance, choose more spacious models, such as Bombardier Challenger 605 or Gulfstream G450.
  • Transcontinental flights: for long flights, you need an aircraft with long range and sleeping places, such as the Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650ER.

Number of passengers:

  • Determine medium number of passengers that are flying most of the time, to select an aircraft with enough seats and comfort level for everyone.

Distance and route:

  • Consider the range of 80% of your most popular flights for the chosen model and the possibility of landing at the destination airport. Consider the specifics of your route: mountainous or maritime terrain may require Aircrafts with specific specifications. We can help you with this!

Budget:

  • Determine your budget and compare the cost of buying different models. We’ll tell you when you could cut corners and when you shouldn’t do that.
  • The cost of the aircraft should not exceed 5% of your capital. Otherwise, you could attract financing.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability of full size bedroom, kitchen, sleeping places, shower room, internet and entertainment system.

Eight Stages of a Business Jet Purchase

Determine aircraft requirements

Determine your budget and travel needs: Where do you want to fly? How often? How many passengers will you carry? What level of comfort do you prefer?

Send request to us

Contact our manager, who will help you understand the technical characteristics of the aircraft and choose the most suitable model.

Select an aircraft model

Based on your requirements, we will select several aircraft models that are optimally suited in terms of technical characteristics, capacity, flight range and other parameters. We will also help you compare the selected models and make an informed choice. We recommend choosing an aircraft that is 80% of your ideal.

Visual inspection of the aircraft

Choose one or two aircrafts from the available options. We will arrange for a visual inspection where you can personally inspect the aircraft, assess the condition of its interior and exterior and determine the most suitable option for purchase.

LOI and contract

You will need to sign a Letter of Intent to purchase the aircraft (LOI), pay a deposit and sign an Aircraft Purchase Agreement drafted by our experienced lawyers.

Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI)

We will arrange an independent technical inspection of the aircraft at a certified center to ensure that it is safe and in good working order. You will receive a detailed report on the technical condition of the aircraft to be sure of its reliability. As a result, you will receive a fully operational airworthy aircraft.

Deal closing

At this stage, the aircraft is flown to the closing location and the aircraft is paid for in any way you like. The transaction is conducted through an escrow agent, which guarantees the safety and transparency of the transaction. Your funds will be sent to the seller only after receiving all necessary documents for the aircraft.

Getting an aircraft

We will organize a delivery ceremony to put the aircraft at your service. And we will ensure that your new aircraft gets off to a comfortable start. If necessary, we recommend the operator, insurance company and trusted maintenance center.

Frequently asked questions

Gulfstream G150: what kind of aircraft is it and what to consider when buying?

The G150 is Gulfstream's compact midsize jet, built in 2005–2016. Seven to eight passengers, a range of about 5,470 km, a cruise up to 850 km/h and Honeywell TFE731-40AR engines. The most affordable way into the Gulfstream owners' club: the brand's build quality and service network at a midsize price. A flight attendant and hot meals are available depending on cabin configuration. There is no in-flight baggage access — bags are loaded on the ground. On typical legs it covers routes such as London–Paris · Paris–Olbia · Dubai–Maldives. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How much does the Gulfstream G150 cost: purchase and running costs?

Guide figures for the Gulfstream G150: average pre-owned price — $3.6M. Running costs at 300–400 h/year — about $2.34M/year, or $5,843 per flight hour. The final figure depends on year, hours flown, engine-programme status and configuration. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What is Gulfstream known for and which models are in the range?

America's Gulfstream is a byword for the flagship business jet: half the world's long-range fleet carries the letter G. The current range: the super-midsize G280, the new G400/G500/G600, and the summit — G650ER, G700 and G800 with up to 14,800 km of range. Signature traits: an M0.90 cruise, oval windows three times the usual area and a cabin altitude equivalent to 900 m. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How reliable are Gulfstreams and how is support organised?

Gulfstream fleet dispatch reliability holds at 99.8% — behind it is business aviation's largest in-house service organisation: 4,000+ specialists, $2B of parts inventory and a 24-hour support centre able to send a mobile team anywhere in the world. The Rolls-Royce Pearl engines on the G700/G800 are serviced under the hourly-rate CorporateCare programme. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How well does Gulfstream hold value on the pre-owned market?

An industry benchmark: a five-year-old G650ER sells for $42–52M against a $70M+ list, and in short-supply years pre-owned aircraft sold above new ones given the queue. 2010s G550s steadily hold $14–18M. Liquidity comes from global demand: a third of buyers are in the US, a third in the Middle East and Asia, so a seller does not depend on one region. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

Which Gulfstream should you choose for a specific task?

For 3–5-hour routes and regional flights, the G280: 6,660 km, 10 seats, the most economical in the family. The G500/G600 cover 9,600–12,000 km — London or Geneva to Singapore nonstop. The G650ER and G700 are intercontinental classics: 13,900–14,350 km, a 19-seat cabin with a bedroom and shower; the G800 adds range to 14,800 km. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What routes and tasks suit midsize jets?

The midsize class covers 4–6-hour legs: London–Dubai, Geneva–Istanbul, Vienna–Dubai. A range of 3,900–6,200 km allows nonstop flights from Europe to the Gulf, India and North Africa. The cabin now allows standing (1.73–1.83 m), work at a table and a flight as a working day — the class is chosen for its balance of range, comfort and price. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

What range and how many passengers do midsize jets have?

Layouts are 8–9 seats, with up to nine passengers on the Citation Latitude and Praetor 500 with two pilots. Range: Citation XLS+ and PC-24 about 3,900 km, Hawker 800XP/900XP 4,600–4,900 km, Latitude 5,280 km, Praetor 500 a class-record 6,200 km. Cruise 780–850 km/h. Holds of 1.3–2.3 m³ take a whole group's gear, including skis. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How does a midsize jet differ from neighbouring classes?

To the light class the midsize adds a stand-up cabin, an extra 1,000–2,000 km and a full galley — but an hour is $1,500–2,500 dearer. The super-midsize goes further: 6,300–7,400 km, a flat floor, sleeping berths — and another $1,000–2,000 on the hour. Midsize is justified on 4–6-hour routes for up to nine people; transatlantic and large parties call for super-midsize. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

Which midsize jets are in the fleet and how do they differ?

Eleven models: the newest Cessna Citation Ascend, Latitude (flat floor, 1.83 m cabin) and Sovereign+, the proven XLS+ Gen 2 — the world's best-selling midsize — the long-legged Embraer Praetor 500 (6,200 km), the 'off-road' Pilatus PC-24 cleared for unpaved strips, the classic Hawker 750/800XP/900XP with the widest cabin of its generation, the fast Learjet 60XR and the compact Gulfstream G150. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

How do you choose an aircraft to buy for your needs?

Start from two numbers: the length of your typical route and the number of passengers. Up to 1,000 km and 4 people — a turboprop or light jet; 2,000–4,000 km — a midsize jet; nonstop intercontinental — a long-range jet. Then adjust for short runways, baggage volume and sleeping berths. We'll match a model to your profile and calculate the ownership economics. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.

New aircraft or pre-owned — which is the better buy?

A new aircraft means a factory warranty and a 1–3-year queue, but the price is at its peak. A pre-owned aircraft means immediate delivery and a price 30–60% lower, while engine time and history matter. For most buyers a fresh 3–7-year-old aircraft is optimal: the main depreciation has happened and plenty of life remains. We cost both options. Send us a request — we'll prepare options, calculate running costs and analyse the best fit for your task.
