The HondaJet Elite II is the culmination of 30 years of Honda research: it's the only jet with overwing engines (OTWEM design). This frees the fuselage from structural beams, giving it the quietest and most spacious cabin in the very light jet class, complete with a full lavatory, and the largest baggage compartment (1.87 m³). It also holds class records: a top speed of 782 km/h (460 mph) and a ceiling of 13,100 m (43,500 ft).

A new Elite II costs approximately $7 million, while used HondaJets from the first production runs from 2016–2018 cost $3.2–4 million. Direct costs are approximately $1,400–1,700 per flight hour: GE Honda HF120 engines with a 5,000-hour service life consume 15–20% less fuel than similar aircraft, thanks to the laminar flow wing. A typical mission is 2–4 passengers over 1,500–2,500 km.

All three are very light jets, priced at $5.5–7 million. The HondaJet is the fastest (782 km/h versus 748 for the M2 and 745 for the Phenom 100EX) and the only one in its class with a separate enclosed lavatory and luggage compartment where suitcases can be loaded without disassembling the cabin. The Citation M2 wins with its reputation and fleet of Citations, while the Phenom 100EX boasts a BMW Designworks interior. All have a range of 2,200–2,900 km.

The HondaJet service network is concentrated in the US and Europe; service within the region is provided through authorized centers in Western Europe. GE Honda HF120 engines are covered by the manufacturer's global support program.

The factory warranty is typically 5 years or 5,000 hours for the airframe and systems. GE Honda HF120 engines are covered by a separate program. Extended service packages with a fixed price are available.

The HondaJet Elite II is delivered approximately 12–18 months from order date. Faster delivery is available from a dealer's inventory or from the used market for early-production HondaJets.
