Sikorsky is a legend of world rotorcraft. The company was founded in 1923 by Igor Sikorsky, the émigré aircraft designer whose VS-300 defined in 1939 the classic helicopter layout the whole world flies today. Since 2015 Sikorsky has been part of Lockheed Martin, with headquarters and production in Stratford, Connecticut.

S-76: the limousine of helicopters

In the civil segment the marque's calling card is the S-76 — a medium twin that has carried principals for decades, from the British royal household to corporate leaders. Ride smoothness, a quiet 6–8 seat VIP cabin, cruise up to 287 km/h and about 760 km of range made it the benchmark of executive helicopter transport. S-92: the heavy standard

The heavy S-92 is certified to the toughest modern FAR29 standards — which is why it serves as the Marine One platform carrying the US president, and as the standard of offshore crew transport. Up to 19 seats in transport layouts, roughly 1,000 km of range, and VIP versions finished to business-jet standards. A global fleet and Sikorsky's support programs make operations predictable anywhere in the world.

The Sikorsky school is defined by structural margin: its aircraft are engineered to offshore and military norms, and civil versions inherit that redundancy. The numbers make the point — offshore S-92s log over 1,000 hours a year in marine climate, a regime that would quickly expose any weakness, while a typical VIP aircraft flying 200–300 hours a year operates far inside the design envelope. On the pre-owned market it pays to distinguish generations: early S-76A/B models are cheap to buy but costlier to support, the C+ and C++ are the fleet's golden mean, and late S-76Ds form the premium tier — the price gap between generations is severalfold, and choosing the right one for the mission saves millions.
