Cirrus is an American manufacturer whose piston-engined SR22s have remained the best-selling general aviation aircraft for twenty years running. The Vision Jet is its first jet: the only production single-engine jet, the world's best-selling jet by number of deliveries since 2018. With five adult seats, a range of approximately 2,200 km, and a price starting at $3.5 million, it offers the most affordable entry into jet aviation.

The Cirrus has removed the main fear of single-engine aircraft: the Vision Jet is equipped as standard with a CAPS parachute, which lowers the entire aircraft with passengers, and the Safe Return system—at the push of a button, the Garmin autopilot automatically selects an airfield, approaches, and lands without pilot intervention. On the SR piston line, the parachute has already saved over 250 people; no other commercial competitor offers this combination.

Demand for used Vision Jets consistently exceeds supply: three- to four-year-old G2s sell for $2.8 million to $3.3 million—approximately $85 million compared to new. Ownership is the cheapest in the jet segment: a single Williams FJ33 engine, fuel consumption of approximately 250 liters per hour, and direct costs of approximately $800 to $1,000 per flight hour for $s, compared to $500 to $2,000 for classic very light jets.

The Cirrus service network is concentrated in the US and Europe; service within the region is provided through authorized centers in Western Europe. The Williams FJ33 engine on the Vision Jet is covered by the Williams TAP global support program.

The factory warranty is typically 5 years for the airframe and engine, plus a separate warranty for the CAPS emergency parachute system and its mandatory repacking as required. Extended JetStream service packages with a fixed service fee are available.

The Vision Jet is delivered approximately 12–18 months from order date—there's a steady waiting list for this model, as it's the only production single-engine jet. Faster delivery is possible on the used market, where demand exceeds supply.

A new Vision Jet G2+ costs around $3.3 million, making it the most affordable jet on the market; aircraft with used aircraft are offered for between $1.5 million and 3.3 million, depending on the year. Residual values are strong: new jets retain prices around 85%.

In the jet segment, the Vision Jet G2 (5 adult seats, ~2,300 km) is the only jet with a CAPS parachute and Safe Return autolanding system. It's the ideal first jet for owner-pilots on 1,000–2,000 km routes; for longer distances and group flights, a lightweight twin-engine jet is needed.
