Pilatus is acquiring the German company Air Alliance, which sells and supports the Swiss manufacturer's PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft.
Air Alliance, headquartered in Burbach in northwest Germany, has been the official authorized sales and service center for Pilatus aircraft since 2014. The company also provides flight training, charter services, and aircraft management services for both the single-engine turboprop PC-12 and the twin-engine jet PC-24.
All 120 Air Alliance employees will retain their positions following the acquisition. Air Alliance Managing Director René Petersen will remain at the helm of the organization as CEO. At the signing ceremony, he noted that the new ownership structure will open up opportunities for further business expansion.
«"Europe, and particularly Germany and Austria, are a very important market for Pilatus with potential for further growth," said Pilatus Chairman Hansueli Loosli. "This transaction allows us to realize synergies and become even closer to our customers – under the Pilatus brand and with our own service.".
Buyers from Germany and Austria can now purchase Pilatus aircraft directly from the Pilatus Aircraft factory, rather than from a dealer.
This purchase reflects a global trend of manufacturers abandoning dealerships and consolidating sales within the manufacturer itself.
